GLORIA, Oriental Mindoro, Jan. 19 (PIA) — Public passengers will soon avail the services of modern transport vehicles in the province’s second district.
Recently, the Bongabong Bansud Gloria Pinamalayan (BBGP) Transport Cooperative acquired at least 20 units of transport vehicles from Forland Philippines.
The units were recently blessed in Brgy. Bulbugan, Gloria. Additional set of 15 vehicles will also be addedd later, according to the BBGP Chairman Eric M. Rodelas. He said all of these vehicles will be funded by Land Bank of the Philippines costing an estimated amount of P1.9 million.
It would ease the long-time problem of the commuting public, as this will serve as a more affordable alternative ride from more expensive public transport vehicles such as tricycles and ‘multicabs’.
According to Rodelas, it is a mandate of the government through Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) to merge the franchises into one group, thus BBGP collaborated with them to address this concern.
This is also part of the transportation modernization plan directed by the President.
Rodelas assured the public that said transport vehicles will be compliant to health protocols and other health related standards against COVID-19, as mandated by Department of Health (DOH).
Rodelas likewise shared that there will be an inauguration soon of the first gas station of BBGP Transport Cooperative, where Gov. Humerlito A. Dolor will also be invited to serve as guest of honor. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
